At 18 years old, Maggie's voice and songs seem beyond her years.
Born in Lexington, KY., Maggie started singing at a young age.
Turned on to music by her dad's record collection, she was exposed to The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Dylan. She discovered Janis Joplin at 14 years old.
"It's at that point that I began to listen to the words", Maggie says. Maggie's obsession with songwriting became apparent when notebook after notebook of her lyrics were found by her mom, under her bed.
Later on, artists like Norah Jones, Mary J. Blige, and Alicia Keys had a powerful influence on her singing. The marriage of these musical influences with her unique spirit is evident in her songs.
Her passionate, pop soulful melodies and lyrics tell her story — A story about not giving up, keeping your head held high, and carrying on through it all.
Whilst putting a new twist on the hip hop genre, we’d say that Maggie’s sound is somewhere between pop and R&B. It“s a perfect combination and follows in the success of Jhené Aiko who we’d say is quite similar in ways.Onepopz.com(UK) Oct 10 2014
Refreshingly unique, harnessing the future RnB sound and delivering an artist who’s lyrics tell of passions and experience beyond her 19-years.Unrecorded.com(UK) Sept 2 2014
Pulling on all the extraterrestrial synths that shoot her beyond the stars, Maggie Gabbard twists in her own pop-perfected vocals with touches of middle-eastern melodies, all mixing together for one massive hit. It's a burner that throws ash into the air and ignites everything around it. Watch as Maggie lights up the sky with her star power in this track below.ObliviousPop.com Aug.18 2014
The force is strong here… the force being power vocals mixed with an unexpected, totally appreciated, trap beat. We can get down to this. You probably can too. Freakin’ infectious.IndieHappyHour.com -Sept2014

The real stand out track here hands down is “The Reason Is Here” which could be compared to SZA and her trademark cryptically romantic pop. Effortlessly carrying her vocals across a atmospheric hip hop beat, I can hear this being sampled on remixes shortly down the line.Unrecorded(UK) Sept 2 2014
Gabbard’s new CD shows a talented artist whose music is a blend of hip-hop, EDM and soul. It is a refreshing break from so much of the new music that is just “cookie cutter” material.Times of Chester County Aug. 12 2014

When I first heard Maggie I was instantly drawn to her! She has a natural gift and I have no doubt she has what it takes to be a true star and authentic artist. It was a pleasure and an honor to work with her.Charlotte Sometimes (NBC's The Voice)
